What this is
NHS National Services Scotland (NSS/PSD Scotland) is seeking a new clinical waste treatment system comprising two separate units: (1) a continuous steam treatment system with shredding capable of processing at least 2 tonnes per hour at STAATT Level 3, CE Marked; and (2) a microwave system for continuous clinical waste treatment capable of at least 250 kg/hour at STAATT Level 4, also CE Marked. Both systems must meet SEPA permit validation requirements. This is a Prior Information Notice published February 2026; the contract notice is expected around May 2026.
