What this is
The Scottish Government's Offshore Wind Directorate requires a supplier to develop and validate a quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) assay for detecting ocean quahog (Arctica islandica) in benthic sediment samples. The contract covers assay development, DNA extraction from 52 sediment samples, qPCR analysis, and a final report with raw data. Estimated value is GBP 49,500 and the contract is expected to run 9 months with an optional 2-month extension from 1 April 2026.
