What this is

The Swan Brook Wetlands project (Year 3) comprises Natural Flood Management measures across three National Trust owned and tenanted farm sites to increase water retention in the Swan Brook headwaters and reduce downstream flood risk. NFM measures include low earth bunds, in-field scrapes, roughening features, leaky dams and floodplain reconnection, plus access and drainage infrastructure construction. Funded by Defra via the Environment Agency's £25 million Natural Flood Management Programme. Estimated value GBP 80,000.
