The North Wales Youth Justice Service seeks to commission an independent, time limited feasibility and options appraisal relating to the development of a regional approach to remand avoidance in North Wales. Individually we have very low usage of remand across the four Youth Justice Services (6 local authorities) however we think work could be done to look at a collective approach which would provide Bail Intensive Supervision and Surveillance, resettlement, and possibly complex case accommodation/placement support.
