National Framework for Adults (18+) in Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Care Homes & Care Homes with Nursing for the National Health Service in Wales

What this is

Velindre University NHS Trust, with the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee and on behalf of the NHS Local Health Boards, is establishing an all-Wales framework for care home and care home with nursing services for adults aged 18 and over with mental health and learning disability needs. The framework has six lots covering mental health, learning disabilities and combined provision, each with and without nursing. It runs from 1 April 2027 for eight years to 31 March 2035, with an estimated annual value of around GBP 50m. No volume or value of services is guaranteed, and the framework stays open for new applicants to join annually.

Who can bid

Care home and care home with nursing providers for adults aged 18+ with mental health and/or learning disability needs. Suppliers may bid for all six lots: CMH (mental health), CLD (learning disabilities), CMHLD (combined), and the nursing variants CMH-N, CLD-N and CMHLD-N.

Estimated annual value circa GBP 50m; total estimated framework value GBP 537,000,000. The notice states that no volume or value of the required services is guaranteed.

Contract period

Commences 1 April 2027 and runs for eight years until 31 March 2035.
