What this is
Forestry and Land Scotland is establishing a framework agreement for soil surveys to manage the National Forest Estate. Scope includes standard site/soil/peat-depth surveys of afforested, clear-felled, open and ex-agricultural land, and non-standard surveys (e.g. peat-depth probing, assessment of newly acquired or reclaimed land). Surveyors record soil patterns using FC classification, map soil polygons digitally, record peat depths via ESRI Fieldmaps, deliver GIS outputs into Foresterweb and produce written reports. Five lots; suppliers may bid for all.
